Choosing Chemotherapy Based on Tumor Testing

At the Personalized Chemotherapy Clinic of S Animal Cancer Center, we analyze the cancer cells of dogs and cats with tumor marker testing, flow cytometry and chemosensitivity testing, and choose chemotherapy drugs based on the results.

Video: about the Personalized Chemotherapy Clinic (Korean narration).

01 Tumor Marker Testing

Tumor marker testing measures substances released by cancer cells or produced by the body in response to them. Using marker analysis and our in-house PCR testing, we check for the HER2, VEGFR2 and KIT markers and use the results to choose targeted drugs and plan treatment.

  • Drugs matched to the tumor's targets
  • Results sooner than conventional testing (2–4 weeks), so treatment can start earlier
  • Relatively low cost
02 Flow Cytometry

Flow cytometry identifies the subtype of lymphoma, so treatment can be planned for that specific type.

  • Accurate diagnosis and a tailored treatment plan
  • Helps identify low-risk lymphoma
03 Chemosensitivity Testing

Your pet's tumor tissue is grown in a 3D culture that resembles conditions in the body, and a range of chemotherapy drugs is tested on it.

  • Several drugs tested on your pet's own tumor cells
  • Helps build a tailored treatment plan
